The smaller cabin was constructed in 1986 by the owners with full round red-pine logs. The craftsmanship is unsurpassed. Solidly built with old traditional hand tools, the logs were hand-hewn, then interlocked together with notched joinery, wood dowels, and 12-inch spikes. For over 20 years, the cabin has been a very successful guest house, host to romantic couples celebrating momentous life occasions.
The main floor is divided by a partial log wall, separating the front kitchenette and dining area, from the rear bedroom. The focal features of the bedroom are the wood burning fireplace with limestone surround, and a whirlpool for two.

The luxury 2-story log home was originally built in the 1800’s, then relocated and restored by the owners in 2001. The original walls of the house are of hand-hewn timber construction. The 18-inch-thick stone walls of the rock room were repurposed from another 1800’s structure. Knowing this was going to be their final log cabin restoration, the owners decided to go for “amazing.” A unique feature on the main floor is the stained and patterned concrete floor with in-floor hydronic heat. For guests’ needs, there is a full functional kitchen complete with two counter areas (one a wood butcher-block style, the other a tiled surface), and all necessary appliances.
