You can die by coffee! It has been determined by experts that if you are able to knock back up to 100 cups one after the other it could cause a fatal heart attack or some sort of caffeine related seizure. However, drinking 100 cups of coffee would be very difficult to achieve as the actual amount of time it would take to drink 100 cups of coffee would probably mean that the total amount of coffee consumed would only cause you to lose sleep, possibly for a couple of nights!
Coffee is good for you! Among the contents of coffee are a variety of important anti-oxidants, these are good for the body and particularly the digestive system so at around 1 or 2 cups per day it can be beneficial, it’s the same as you might find in tea, beans, bananas or corn.
Coffee is the new painkiller! Studies have proven that small amounts of caffeine can encourage the discharge of endorphins which can block sensory neurones to pain; this has only been proven to work in muscular pain from exercise and not in any other forms of inflicted pain.
There is caffeine in decaf! It’s only marginal but a small amount of caffeine actually exists in decaffeinated coffee. But don’t dump your evening cappuccino as you would have to consume up to 10 cups of decaf to get the amount in one cup of ordinary coffee.
You can lose weight with coffee! Despite containing stimulants and other ingredients, coffee does not actually contain any calories. This bears no relevance on what you add to coffee so don’t assume you will keep your figure if you fill up on double-grande-latte-mocha-chinos.
Avoid wrinkles with coffee! Due to coffee containing anti-oxidants which are beneficial to the body many skin care ‘experts’ will offer you some sort of coffee-skin-service. In Japan you can cleanse in fermented pineapple pulp mixed with coffee beans even though there is no significant evidence to prove any of this.
